Chansoo Lee (이찬수) is an artist in residence at Korean Performing Arts Institute of Chicago (KPAC). He has a Master of Music in Korean Traditional Performing Arts at Sehan University in Korea. He is also the winner of the Grand Prize at the 36th Jeonju Daesaseup Festival in the category of Nongak.
Chansoo Lee was a guest artist at San Diego Korean Pungmul Institute during week-long winter camps in 2018 and 2019. During the camps, Mr. Lee focused on teaching Sangmo Pankut, which features artists playing instruments while performing spinning sangmo (ribbon hat) choreography. At the end of each camp, all participants performed at the Korean American Senior Association in San Diego.
